Automotive & EV Wire Harness Manufacturing at NT
JIAXING NT ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. (Naitong Automotive Electronics) is a China-based Automotive & EV Wire Harness manufacturer supplying custom harness assemblies and diagnostic cables for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, battery-electric and hybrid platforms, and off-highway equipment. Our range covers main vehicle harnesses, engine and dashboard harnesses, chassis and body harnesses, high-voltage harnesses for new energy vehicles, and OBD2/J1939 diagnostic and conversion cables.
We work from drawing, sample or application brief through prototype validation to repeat mass production. Our Jiaxing facility operates 30 production lines with more than 300 staff, and our Ho Chi Minh City factory provides additional supply flexibility for overseas programs.
Product Range and Application Fit
Our automotive and EV Wire Harnesses range is organized around the vehicle zone and the electrical function being connected. Each family uses different wire gauges, connector systems, sealing classes and shielding approaches, so we match the construction to the installation environment rather than applying one standard build across all programs.
| Harness Family | Typical Application | Key Configuration Points |
|---|---|---|
| Main vehicle harness | Passenger car and light commercial vehicle body and cabin distribution | Branch routing, conduit and tape wrapping, connector cavity layout |
| Engine and ECU harness | Powertrain sensors, actuators and engine control units | Heat-rated insulation, vibration-resistant terminals, sealed connectors |
| Dashboard and body harness | Instrument clusters, switches, lighting and interior modules | Compact pitch connectors, thin-wall wire, overmolded strain relief |
| High-voltage EV harness | Battery pack, inverter, motor and charging circuits | Orange HV jacket, shielding, high-temperature insulation, IP-rated sealing |
| Diagnostic and conversion cables | OBD2, SAE J1939, fleet telematics and workshop tools | Pin definition, connector gender, Y-branching, cable length |
Diagnostic and Communication Harnesses
A large part of our production is dedicated to diagnostic interconnect cables for cars, trucks, buses and off-highway machinery. These assemblies combine standard protocols with custom pin-outs and connector combinations, and we manufacture both the terminals and plastic connectors in-house for several OBD designs.
- SAE J1939 female connector to Molex 43025 miniature connector for heavy-duty CAN data acquisition and telematics.
- OBD2 male to Y-type extended diagnostic cable with 16-pin interface, 26–18 AWG terminals and 10,000+ plug-cycle rating.
- Automotive wire harness assembly with MCP connectors for engine and body modules requiring sealed multi-pin interfaces.
- J1939 green and black connector variants, right-angle and integrated male-to-female types, and APEX 2.8 mm conversion cables for truck diagnostics.
Materials and Critical Specifications
Wire and insulation selection follows the current load, voltage class, ambient temperature, flexing duty and chemical exposure of each circuit. Standard builds use PVC thin-wall insulation with PVC, TPU or XLPE sheathing; high-voltage circuits use dedicated orange jacket compounds and shielding to control electromagnetic interference.
- Conductor: tin-plated or bare copper, strand count matched to flex and crimp requirements.
- Terminals: phosphor bronze pre-plated with tin for OBD connectors; crimp height and pull-out force controlled in process.
- Voltage and current: diagnostic cable builds rated 300 V DC and 1–5 A; HV harness ratings defined per project.
- Flame retardancy: UL94 V-0 compounds available for connector overmolding and selected jackets.
- Sealing: IP-rated connector and overmold options for engine bay, chassis and exterior routing.
Configuration and Engineering Support
We configure each harness around the installation space, assembly path and connection points defined by the vehicle or equipment manufacturer. Our engineering team reviews drawings or application descriptions and proposes routing, branch structure, fixing method and connector layout before samples are built.
Routing, branch geometry, bend radius and fixation reviewed against the assembly sequence.
Mating method, insertion frequency and space constraints used to select connector and terminal systems.
Low-pressure molding and overmolding for strain relief, sealing and integrated assemblies.
OEM service applies when drawings, BOM files, samples or assembly standards are already fixed. ODM service applies when the application is defined but the detailed harness structure is still open; we then develop the connection concept, match materials and validate through samples before production release.
Manufacturing, Testing and Acceptance
Production follows a defined sequence: wire extrusion, cutting, jacket stripping, terminal crimping or welding, sub-assembly, overmolding, harness assembly, inspection and packing. Our Jiaxing plant covers approximately 10,000 m² with 25–30 lines arranged by product category and a daily capacity of around 300,000 pieces.
- 100% terminal inspection and 100% electrical performance testing on diagnostic cable lines.
- 100% final quality control with AQL 0.65 sampling for outgoing lots.
- Continuity, signal transmission, shielding and voltage-withstand checks aligned to project requirements.
- IATF16949, UL, RoHS, SGS and REACH documentation available for automotive programs.
Acceptance criteria are agreed before mass production. Sample confirmation is required, and inspection records, test data and material declarations are prepared according to the quality clause in the purchase order.
Installation, Packaging and Supply
Harnesses are supplied with labeling, branch identification and connector protection suited to the line-side handling method. Packaging can be customized as boxes, trays or labeled bags, and sample packaging is available for validation builds. Ports of origin are Shanghai and Vietnam, with samples typically prepared in 3–15 days and bulk orders in 2–4 weeks depending on configuration and volume.
For maintenance and serviceability, we retain harness drawings, pin definitions and test records so replacement assemblies can be reproduced consistently. Spare-part and service kits can be packed separately when aftermarket distribution is part of the program.
Related NT Product Categories
Automotive programs often require interconnection products outside the vehicle harness itself. Our wider product range includes Industrial Control Cables for production equipment and test benches, Signal & Data Cables for communication links, and Electric Vehicles Wire Harnesses assemblies for control modules and sensors.
